Music department

The music deparment offers music as a subject as well as an extra-curricular activity.

All Grade 8 and 9 learners take Art and Culture as part of their curriculum and they have to specialise
in Music at the same time. If a learner chooses to specialise in Music, he/she has to do the UNisa Syllabus.
A learner can also take informal music tuition.

In Grdae 10, 11 and 12 learners have the option to take music as a seventh/eighth subject and have to continue with the UNisa syllabus.
Music subject involves the following:
Music History
Music Theory
Music Performance
Aural training

We offer tuition in the following:
Piano (Classical and Contemporary)
Singing (Contemporary)

Other activities:
Ensemble
Singing group / Choir
Overberg Eisteddford
Montagu Eisteddford
Music Evening
Culture/ Talent morning

Hermanus kamerkoor

High Times, Hoërskool Hermanus se eie skoolkoerant, verskyn een keer per kwartaal. Dit bevat altyd alles wat die afgelope kwartaal gebeur het met pragtige kleurfoto's op die buiteblaaie. Die redaksie bestaan uit ongeveer 30 lede uit graad 10 tot graad 12.

Die dag waarop High Times uitgegee word, sorg elke kwartaal vir groot opwinding.
