our
sports
grounds

Saturday

August.
We are
looking
forward
to this
occasion

We would
like to

our

dried

Thursday

participated
in the
annual
internal
Junior
Oratory
Competition
and
acquitted
themselves
very
well of
their
task.
There is
clearly
much
talent
among
them,
and the
standard
was very
high.
The
participants

BALLET
Ashley
Scott
(grade
8) is a
member
of the
Cape
Junior
Ballet
Company
and one
of 17
girls
chosen
to
attend
an
international
dance
workshop
called
Dance
Algarve
in lagos,
Portugal
from
17-26
March
this
year.
She
participated
in the
workshop
during
the day
and then
performed
in
“Images
of
Dance”,
showcasing
both
classical
and
neo-classical
ballet,
modern
and
contemporary
dance
every
evening
to a
full
interantional
audience.
This is
the
second
time
that
Ashley
has
danced
overseas
– the
first
being at
the
World
Show
Dance
Championships
in
Germany
in 2005.

1. Cross
Country
Congratulations
to
Emile
Pieterse
who has
achieved
outstanding
results
during
the
first
half of
the
season.
Emile is
unbeaten
at the
Boland
U15
cross
country
races,
having
won all
four of
his
races so
far this
season.
The
school
is very
proud of
him and
we are
confident
that he
will
once
again be
selected
to
represent
Boland
at the
National
Championships
next
term.
2.
Wrestling
Congratulations
to
Daan
Bosman,
who was
selected
to
represent
the SA
U20 team
at the
Junior
Africa
Championships
in
Tunisia
from 2-6
June. He
competed
in the
U/66kg
division.
The
competition
was very
strong
and Daan,
who is
only 18
years
old,
competing
again 20
year
olds,
was very
unfortunate
to miss
out on a
medal,
finishing
fourth
overall.
The SA
team
competing
in the
Grieko
Roman
competition
finished
second,
while
the SA
team
competing
in the
Freestyle
competition,
came
first.
Well
done,
Daan!

Squash
The
squash
teams
have
produced
fantastic
results
during
the
first
half of
the
season.
Congratulation

team who
finished
second
in the
league,
while
the
boys’
second
team and
the
girls’
first
team

NETBALL
players
from
Hermanus
High
School
will be
touring
New
Zealand
from
27/6-11/7.
They
will be
playing
3
matches
as well
as
attending
an
intensive
coaching
clinic
presented
by
Yvonne
Willering,
the NZ
national
coach.
The tour
group
will
also be
attending
the
Tri-Nations
rugby
match
between
SA and
New
Zealand
on
Saturday
5/7 in
Wellington.
The
touring
team
will be
accompanied
by Ms
Rista
Heunis
(coach)
and Ms
L. van
Niekerk.
We wish
them a
successful
tour!
GOLF:
Eight
learners,
accompanied
by Mr
Hooneberg
& Mr
Milne,
will be
going to
the
Natal
South
Coast on
a golf
tour
from
29/6-05/7.
The boys
will
play
five
different
courses
during
the
week.
This
promises
to be a
very
exciting
tour and
the boys
will no
doubt
gain
tremendously
from
this
experience.
RUGBY:
The U19A
and U16A
rugby
teams
will be
participating
in the
Nico
Malan
Wilco
tournament
in
Humansdorp
from
9/7-12/7.
The
teams
will
each
play two
matches
during
the
tournament.
The
teams
will be
accompanied
by Mr
Hooneberg
and Mr
Bellingan.
